About the Authors

Diane Tice and Roy Baumeister teach at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Dr. Baumeister has developed a popular model of stress and performance. He analyzed basketball and baseball championship games and discovered that the home teams often choked under pressure and lost the game.

About the Journal

Psychological Science is a journal of the American Psychological Society, devoted to scientific research in psychology. Many different types of psychological research are published in this journal.

Dr Timothy Pychyl, at Carleton University in Canada, is conducting a research study on procrastination and the Internet. He has also developed an excellent site on procrastination. Finally, here is an excellent essay on procrastination from the Albert Ellis Institute, a non-profit educational institution for rational-emotive behaviour therapy

Managing Stress

Stress can disrupt mental and physical well-being. It is important to recognize stress in your life and learn how to cope with it. Mind Tools, a Web site with information designed with the goal of : "Helping you think your way to an excellent life!" has some good tools for stress management. As well, Kaplan, the test center, has a good guide to stress, time management, and test anxiety.
