Computer Technology Workshops for Students

Dates: September 4-25, 1997

Are you able to access library resources and the World Wide Web course material on the Internet? Can you use electronic mail? Do you know how to use word processing software to produce a paper?

Online InfoGate and BioAg Database Tutorial

Navigating the Library

Description: A brief introduction to the University of Alberta Libraries. The objective of the workshop is to teach users how to search the GATE: NEOS' Libraries Catalogue and available databases.

Night Search and Rescue

Test your Night Search and Rescue Skills at:
Pembina River Provincial Park
Saturday, September 27, 1997

K9 Search and Rescue, in conjunction with Pembina Park Staff and the Evansburg RCMP, will host a mock search which will last through the night of Saturday, September 27, and end by 0900 Sunday, September 28, or when all subjects have been found, which ever is sooner.

This is an excellent opportunity to test your night search skills and equipment.

Please bring eye protection, night search gear, and a 24 hour pack. Bring your Search Log Books - this is a logable training exercise.

Searchers are to meet in the Day Use Parking Lot at 1930.

Managers are to meet in the Day Use Parking Lot at 1830.
