Course Objectives

The primary objective of this course is to give you experience with learning paradigms. Although the methodology of any individual experiment in the field of learning is determined by the objectives of the study, there are some procedures that are commonly used. During the term you will have the opportunity to use these techniques.

A secondary objective is to give you some experience in the design, analysis, and reporting of empirical research in psychology. Consequently, there will also be an emphasis on the way experiments in learning are presented in the technical literature.
