Are there political implications of research on the positive effects of day-care? Are these
I should think it was in the government'st interest to _not_ find positive effects of child care because then they might have to invest in the system to provide everyone with good quality care.
This research is very important because governments use the results to help them how to distrubute the money on daycares. The research has to be done carefully because if the results were wrong, then the government may make the wrong decision.
If day-care has such positive influences on later verbal and mathematical achievements, day-care costs might be raised. If the service is seen as more valuable, cost might raise. Governments might want to get in on the action. It would become more popular and money would be pumped into this area. Government funding and user fees.
Yes, I feel that there are political implications of research on the positive effects of day-care.
Yes, I believe there are. It is important that care is regulated and measured in daycares, not only because of the importance of the children influenced, but also because government money is used to support daycare. Why should taxpayers money go towards something that is hindering the mental, physical and social development of children?? It is good to see that there are positive effects of daycare, and to see that possible reasons behind this can also be implimented into a home setting. Perhaps in the future, more gov't spending will be focused on the home environment, allowing parents to enrich their children's environment at home, instead of in the daycare.
If the positive effects of day-care are stressed, it may in effect, deemphasize the impotance of family care. People may also begin to back off day-cares and not do as many checks on them to make sure they are being run carefully. People may just expect they are doing good things for the children in the long run and may ignore what is being done in the short term.
Yes there are political implications of research on the positive effects of day-care.If governments start seeing how daycares influence cognitive performance later on in children then maybe governments may also start looking at putting more money in elementary schools and other higher levels of education.
There are political implications to this study. These implications include daycare funding, daycare quality, and educational advantages to compete at a world level. These result do not warrent social policy, but do warrent government funded research to search for the specifics of positive daycare.
results relevant to government bodies that draft social policies?

The government should invest in these systems because these children are the leaders and representatives of the future. The results give a sample understanding where the implication of ideals could better the cognitive abilities of
these children.
