Comments

The first part of the meiotic chromosome replication process is actually fairly similar to that of mitosis. Chromosomes duplicate themselves (figures 1 and 2), shorten (figures 3 and 4), and line up at the midline of the cell (figures 5 and 6), after which they are pulled apart (figures 7 and 8).
