The University of Alberta is one of the premier research-intensive universities in Canada. Known widely as a research powerhouse, its scientists, scholars, and artists attract approximately $400,000,000 in funding each year.

The Department of Psychology has a long and distinguished history—and a lively and very productive present. In the current year our faculty, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students attracted national and international research grants totaling approximately $3.2 million. Our researchers hold grants from NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR, CFI, AB INGENUITY, NIH, AHFMR/AIHS and ACCFCR.

Recent Accomplishments: In a three-year period, faculty members:

• Have published about 250 articles and chapters.
• Have competed successfully for five research endowments, including three provincial (AHFMR Scholars) and two national (Canada Research Chairs) positions.
• Have served on multiple grant review committees (NSERC, SSHRC, NIH, HSFC).
• Have participated as editors of major journals (Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology, Dreaming) and on numerous editorial boards.
• Have received major awards for teaching, research, and community service.
